Swift Rio joins Bolero and Kon-tiki with striking black metallic cab and all three ranges benefit from Swift Group’s innovation

Launched with great success on Bolero and Kon-tiki, the popular ‘Black Edition’ concept has been extended to the Rio for 2017, with a striking black metallic cab and new graphics tied into the white bodyshell. All three ranges benefit from enhanced SMART Plus construction and the new Swift Command system, on top of updated soft furnishing schemes.

Swift upgraded the SMART construction system to SMART Plus for 2016 by adding a new sandwich floor construction with a GRP outer skin. Following on from the success with Bolero, SMART Plus has been further enhanced for 2017 on Rio and Kon-tiki, with new balanced panel side walls having both GRP outer and inner skins to create a full GRP bodyshell. GRP is more impact resistant than aluminium, ensuring long lasting good looks to secure your investment for the future.

Swift Command, launched last season in Swift Group's flagship ranges, brought modern technology with an 'App' interface to the leisure vehicle market. This exciting innovation is now available across Swift Group's entire Caravan and Motorhome ranges.

The Swift Command control system includes an intelligent power supply unit and a smart LCD control panel that allows viewing of enhanced control panel functions.  There is also an exciting Swift Command 'App' that can be downloaded to Smartphones and Tablets (iOS and Android) which enables the user to remotely control and/or monitor certain vehicle systems either inside the vehicle using a Bluetooth interface (BLE), or away from the vehicle (providing that there is a signal or wi-fi available). Added to the system for the new season is the option to subscribe to a pro-active Thatcham Level 6 tracker.

All 2017 models also come with access to Connect Direct, Swift’s online customer service portal. Swift is the only manufacturer to have a dedicated customer service team and the Connect Direct system is additional to existing contact points.

The key benefits of Connect Direct are: access to information 24/7; ability to report faults directly to us; product upgrades and notifications; live chat direct into our experienced retail team; upload service history records and service history reminders.

Powering all three ranges is the new, more environmentally friendly, Euro 6 engine. All Rio models and the smaller Bolero models come with a 2.3 litre 130bhp engine with 6-speed gearbox, whilst larger Bolero’s and Kon-tiki’s come with a 2.3 litre 150bhp engine with 6-speed gearbox as standard. All ranges have the option of the Fiat Comfort-Matic automatic gearbox and a power upgrade on selected models.

Inside each range receives soft furnishing upgrades with the Rio sporting a new ‘Cordone’ scheme. This features an expresso textured fabric to the seat edges with a pebble coloured ‘SwiftShield’ infill. ‘SwiftShield’ is a soft suede like fabric that has been cleverly treated during manufacturing to resist stains, it simply cleans using water and a damp cloth. The fabric panels surrounding the windows are in an etched honeycomb platinum design and there are faux fur cushions.

The Bolero has an updated scheme called ‘Ritz’ which retains the sumptuous feel and colour ways introduced last year with a simple change to one of the seating fabrics. The main oyster and mahogany seating fabrics are now both ‘SwiftShield’ and the crushed velvet platinum band is retained in the backrest which ties in with the etched honeycomb platinum curtains. The shaped foam bedding allows a more intricate fabric combination with the three fabrics combining to give a luxury feel along with the faux fur effect scatter cushions.

The Kon-tiki scheme is enhanced with new twin needle stitching detail to the ‘Carabu’, part ‘SwiftShield’, soft furnishing scheme in oyster and dusk tones. There are scatter cushions in faux fur effect and curtains in an etched hexagonal dusk design.

A leather option, ‘Winchester Stone’ is available on Bolero and Kon-tiki models.

All ranges retain the exclusive Duvalay Duvalite mattress on fixed beds, including the drop down bed in the Rio 325 and 340 which is now manually operated.

The Dometic CU600 oven introduced in the Bolero and Kon-tiki last year, now also features in the Rio. Exclusive to Swift, it is sleeker and tested to be more efficient with improved performance and noise reduction.

New for this year on Rio and Bolero are electronic fresh and waste water tank drain valves. Kon-tiki models retain their internal quick drain valves with large bore water pipes.

All three ranges continue otherwise unchanged with an already impressive standard specification and great value option packs. The Lux pack on the Rio adds air conditioning, cruise control and a Status 570 TV aerial.

The Bolero was significantly enhanced last year with a stunning full make over inside and out and retains the optional Vogue pack, which adds cab air-conditioning, cruise control, Status 570 TV aerial and a twin-view reversing camera.

Kon-tiki models come with almost everything as standard, leaving only engine, fabric, tow bar and roof rack options.

Nick Page, Swift Group’s Commercial Director, commented, “From the sporty compact Rio to the stunning Bolero and top of the range luxury Kon-tiki, the Swift Black Edition motorhome range has a real family feel for 2017. Offering great style, choice and specification whether you are looking for a sporty adventure or a quiet hideaway there is a model to suit.”
