The outright success of 2009/10 on the Motorhome front has been the launch of the Escape Range by the Swift Group. In a little over a year the four model range has captured a big share of the overall market and become Swift Group’s best selling single range.
Winner of the Caravan Club Design and Drive Award for Motorhomes, the Escape has provided a welcome boost to the motorhome market at a time of recession. It has provided a well equipped modern style Motorhome for just over £30,000, filling a growing gap for people who want to buy a new Motorhome but do not want to spend the larger amounts needed for other models.
The Escape 686 model has also recently won the MMM 2010 Award for Budget Rear Lounge Coachbuilt of the Year.
“We picked up the need for a modern Motorhome with a good standard specification within the £30K to £35K price bracket some time ago and with the recession still in people minds, this is the ideal range for people wanting a good value product at a lower price.
We knew we had a winner on our hands at its very first showing, but record sales have proved the demand for this range was even greater than we predicted,” Nick Page, Commercial Director of the Swift Group commented.
Following on from the success of the Escape, with it firmly established as the new entry point to the Swift Group Coachbuilt motorhome range, this has allowed the new Swift Sundance and Bessacarr E400 ranges to be moved up market with a sleek new exterior and interior design and an upgraded specification, which was launched at the NEC show in February earlier this year.
Still very competitively priced with on the road prices ranging from £36K-£45K, the Swift Sundance and Bessacarr E400 provide the next step up.
The relaunch has given these ranges the appeal and content of more expensive motorhomes combined with unrivalled value for money to meet the expectations of the many existing owners who are ready to change.
They have already been industry acclaimed with the Bessacarr E450 model winning the award for ‘Best Coachbuilt up to £43,000’ category at The 2010 Caravan Club’s Motor Caravan Design and Drive Awards. The 2 berth Swift Sundance 530LP also came second in this category and in the ‘Coachbuilts between £43,000 and £54,000’category the Swift Sundance 630L received second place and the Bessacarr E480 third place and in the ‘Coachbuilts over £54,000’.
The new ranges look really sleek with styling using the latest 3D software and new GRP capping rails joining the front GRP overcab pod to a new full GRP back panel.
Inside the attention to detail is evident. New leather look trim to the front over cab fascia ties into the locker moulding for a fully integrated look. Push button locks on overhead locker doors and a new slide out storage unit with bracket for a 15” flatscreen TV provides secure storage.
Accented kitchens have cream locker doors and new granite look GRP sink with co-ordinating laminate work surfaces and a microwave oven now comes as standard. New energy-saving LED lighting uses 70% less power than a conventional system and en-route and on-site heating keeps the interior warm including the new washroom with stylish vanity unit, handy wall storage and a bi-fold door to separate the lined shower area.
Nick Page, Commercial Director for Swift Group commented ‘These new models take the Sundance and E400 ranges to a new level of style and specification. To help people who want to renew their motorhome, they provide outstanding value and comfort for a very affordable price in a sector of the market that will grow in the current economic climate.’
