New models and beat the VAT creates all time record £32 million sales for Swift at NEC Show

The Swift Group, Britain's leading caravan, motorhome and holiday home manufacturer, saw the launch of four new ranges and the looming increase in VAT rates help the company to all time record sales of £32 million at the International Caravan and Motorhome Show at the NEC Birmingham.

With the launch of the revolutionary new Swift Challenger and Conqueror and Sterling Eccles and Elite ranges of tourers at the show, pent up demand for these models lead the record sales drive.

The company's ranges of motorhomes also saw a 25 per cent increase over recent years, clearly helped by customers buying before the increase to 20% VAT on 4th January 2011.

The Group displayed over 120 of its market leading models on a massive 6,300sq metre stand that provided a centre piece for the show. The new tourers feature a dramatic new exterior shape which incorporate a new panoramic window in the roof, a first for the European market. Inside they have many new features and they have been well received by both the public and the Press. The New Challenger 570SR was voted "Tourer of the Year" by Practical Caravan the largest selling magazine in the sector.

"With a hardening economic climate we went into the NEC Show believing our new products would be in great demand but a little unsure as to how the market would stand up. We are delighted with the results which have given us a substantial increase in market share and secured not only record sales but a good ongoing order book well into next year", Commercial Director Nick Page commented.
