New Bordeaux range heads a list of major changes to the Swift Holiday Home line-up

The Swift Group is poised to further strengthen the company’s position in the holiday home market following the announcement of major improvements in energy saving and insulation and the launch of a new sector-leading 4 model Bordeaux range.

Improvements in specification and design have been made throughout all five Swift holiday home ranges, and by upgrading key areas like glazing and both roof and floor insulation, thermal performance (Overall structural “U”-value) has been improved by as much as 32%.

Add energy efficient lighting and “A” rated electrical appliances and the 2012 products are the “greenest” ever produced by Swift and in many cases are now market leading in power consumption and insulation.

The most significant improvements have been made to the all new Bordeaux range, which punches a level much higher than its price when it comes to design and value for money.

Outside, the all new front design offers the choice of full height vaulted centre windows or opening patio doors. Lounge layouts have been changed so that two contemporary free-standing sofas come as standard in all versions.

All models now have the luxury of an en-suite toilet for the master bedroom and main bathrooms have a large contemporary shower cubicle with glass sliding door. The integrated fridge/freezer is “A” rated and a stainless steel recirculating cooker hood incorporates a charcoal filter. The uPVC windows have push button security locks. Double beds have gas strut assisted access to the storage area underneath the mattress and the 38ft 2 bed and 35ft 2bed models have a king sized bed.

Key options include “Thermaglas” 16mm gap double glazing in uPVC frames which improves the “U”-value by 35%, a galvanised Fusion chassis which is guaranteed for 10 years, central heating and the Aspect patio door system.

The four models in the Bordeaux range are a new 33ft x 12ft 2 bedroom layout, the already popular 35ft x 12ft 2 bedroom and 38ft x 12ft 2 bedroom models and a new 38ft x 12ft 3 bedroom version. The Swift holiday home line up starts with the value for money Burgundy range which offers a choice of four 12ft and three 10ft wide models. Key selling points include class leading thermal insulation, which can be improved by 32% by fitting the optional “Thermaglas” double glazed uPVC units, strong Fusion chassis with Zinfos paint finish guaranteed for 3 years, domestic type gutters and down pipes, heavy duty durable vinyl flooring and a contemporary domestic style interior.

All models have the style and toughness for either private ownership or the rental market. Key options include the galvanised Fusion chassis with a 10 year warranty, double glazed windows and a gas central heating option in all models including the 10ft range.

Points that make the Swifts different from other holiday homes include standard features like distinctive moulded GRP bargeboards, tough woodgrain textured sandstone aluminium cladding, large capacity gutters and down pipes, 90mm roof insulation, 50mm underfloor insulation with lagged pipes, heavy duty durable vinyl floor covering in the kitchen, hallway and bathrooms, a dedicated microwave oven location and a smoke alarm with a 10 year battery. These points are shared by all the homes in the Swift range.

Moving up from the new Bordeaux range the Moselle gets two new layouts, a unique 38ft x 12ft 2 bedroom model with a bath in the master bedroom en-suite and a king sized double bed, and a new layout in the 38ft x 12ft 3 bedroom with larger bedrooms and an en-suite toilet in the master bedroom.

The Moselle models are the first of the three more expensive ranges to benefit from the bonded sandwich construction which gives the exterior walls greater structural strength. The bath in the 38ft 2 berth model also has a shower fitment and is the first holiday home in this price range to have this feature.

Low energy lighting, linked to the sector leading insulation values makes the Moselle range economic to operate and economy can be improved by a further 35% by choosing the optional “Thermaglas” uPVC double glazing. Upgraded brushed chrome sockets and switches give these products an exclusive look and feel.

All Moselle’s come with a fixed three window front with vaulted centre window, but can also be ordered with the optional Aspect patio door which provides double patio doors in place of the fixed windows, two external lights under the front soffit, a vertical blind in place of the venetian blind in the centre window and a swivel armchair and pouffe in place of the front sofa and corner storage unit.

The Chamonix maintains last season’s successful formula and three model range. The specification gets a further uplift with thermal efficiency improved by 32% through addition of thicker floor and roof insulation and an upgrade to “Thermaglas” double glazing as standard.

High specification features include the Fusion galvanised chassis, which is guaranteed for 10 years, a glazed side gable providing extra light and character to the kitchen/dining area, full height windows throughout the lounge and dining area. Other key selling points include a Velux rooflight in the kitchen, large 80,000 btu/h domestic style gas central heating and hot water boiler, 5 burner gas hob with central “wok” burner, electronic ignition and flame failure protection and a stainless steel re-circulating cooker hood with charcoal filter. Other finer points of detail include a chrome finish towel radiator in the main bathroom and 15” flat screen TV positions in all bedrooms.

The top of the range Champagne is in a class of its own. The 42ft length is enhanced by 13ft 3inch width, creating space for a larger bathroom, bigger twin bedroom, room in the kitchen for a big American style fridge/freezer and an overall greater feeling of space throughout the home.

Swift believe the Champagne has the best energy efficiency rating (lowest structural “U”-value) in the holiday home market due to its exceptional construction, insulation and glazing specification.

Construction can best be described as robust. Bonded sandwich exterior walls have 60mm of insulation, the composite floor has 50mm, there is 90mm in the roof and the uPVC double glazed windows are fitted with heat reflecting “Thermaglas”. The strong, galvanised Fusion Chassis is guaranteed for 10 years. The very best of construction to keep you warm in any season.

The outside appearance is completed by CanExel high density wood composite with a durable and realistic woodgrain texture to give the Champagne a natural appearance. This model is standard with the Almond finish and both Arcadia green and Sierra wood are options.

From the American style A-rated fridge freezer with plumbed water cooler/dispenser to the main bedroom with king sized bed, walk in wardobe and en-suite with full sized P bath and shower to the lounge with top of the range free standing sofa, one armchair with swivel base and one normal armchair, the Champagne shouts 5 star luxury.

“Our designers have created a holiday home range that leads the market in terms of construction, thermal insulation standards and energy efficient systems. To this they have added many unique design features and practical solutions to everyday living that set them apart from the competition and all our holiday homes have excellent thermal performance figures within their class. We are confident they will be the homes of choice for private buyers and for companies operating rental fleets who want to offer that something extra to their customers,” Nick Page Swift Group Commercial Director commented.
