Swift Group, the UK’s leading touring caravan, motorhome and holiday home company, saw the pattern of strong sales in 2011, started at Shows in Manchester and Scotland continue at the major Boat Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show at the NEC last week.
Despite the hardening economic climate and political problems in the Middle East, sales of the company’s new products remain encouraging. On the touring front, the new Challenger, Eccles, Elite and Conqueror ranges performed well as did the entry level Sprite models.
Motorhomes saw the trend towards more cost effective motorhomes continue with the revamped Escape range doing particularly well along with the Sundance and E400 ranges.
The company exhibited their holiday homes alongside the touring caravans for the first time at the show this year and took orders for a substantial amount of this product range without customers even seeing the home on their chosen site.
“The market is showing definite signs of hardening but people are still keen to buy style and value for money, two areas in which Swift have a reputation for excelling. With foreign travel both proving more expensive this year due to rising oil prices, and political uncertainty in various parts of the world, we will continue to benefit from more people choosing to holiday in the UK this year, “ CEO James Buckley commented.
James continued “A large part of this result is due to the fantastic effort put in by our dealers and our sales and customer services staff whose efforts turned what could have been a difficult show into a great success for which I thank them.”
