Escape remains best selling single motorhome range

The Escape range continues to be the biggest selling single motorhome range for Swift Group. Significant enhancements launched last year including Swift Group's SMART intelligent construction system, Fiats new cab, upgraded exterior styling and new higher specification interior features are carried forward for 2016.

Swift's award-winning SMART intelligent construction system has been enhanced for 2016 to SMART Plus, which include a new sandwich floor construction with a GRP outer skin providing greater durability from the elements.

Stylish graphics and new Seitz C6 windows refresh the exterior. For active customers new bike rack fixing rails on the rear make it easy to fit a bike rack and there is a new bike locking point fixed to a rear cross member.

A new 12V socket and USB socket have been added to the cab which are handy for the new dash mounted tablet holder and the radio is now DAB.

Inside the interior remains mostly unchanged and carries forward the upgraded soft furnishings, locker doors in contemporary 'Aralie Sen' woodgrain and chrome push button locker catches that give it an upmarket feel.

A digital control panel is fitted to control the Truma Combi-boiler heating and hot water. As an additional dealer fitted upgrade this can be controlled via a new Truma iNet box to allow remote control and monitoring of the Truma boiler heating system.

Washroom fittings are updated, including a new Ecocamel Orbit showerhead with on/off button for a powerful shower that uses less water than a standard shower head and new high gloss white washroom wallboard.

The handy chopping and draining board in the kitchen have been modified so they nestle neatly together for easy storage. With a microwave oven, powerful Truma combi boiler, LED lighting and Duvalay Duvalite mattress on fixed beds, overall specification remains high, a key part of the Escapes success.

A new low–line 622, ideal for couples, brings the choice to two low-line and four high-line models. Three models have four belted travelling seats and two layouts have five (6 optional), making them ideal for young or “three-generation” families.

Many motorhomes in this price category have only 110bhp engines, but the power unit in all Escapes is the Fiat 2.3 litre, 130bhp Euro 5+ turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed gearbox. A Fiat Comfort-Matic automatic gearbox is also available as an option.

The optional Comfort pack includes a Winter Pack with waste water tank heaters, under floor pipe insulation and fridge vent covers and a Status 570 TV aerial. This is in addition to cab-air-conditioning, passenger air bag, electric entrance step, concertina door flyscreen and pleated windscreen blind giving a very high specification. It is so keenly priced it's always selected.

All models come with a “TRACKER Retrieve” Thatcham approved tracking system and the reassurance of Swift Group's 10-year body integrity warranty. Many insurers insist on trackers, so it could save customers several hundred pounds.

Nick Page, Swift Group's Commercial Director, commented, “Escape continues to be our top selling single range and has provided many people with their first experience of the freedom owning a motorhome can provide. With models for couples and families, this year's package is still very much aimed at anyone wanting to buy new rather than second hand or just looking for amazing value.”
