Escape range is even SMARTer for 2015 with Swift Group’s new intelligent construction system, Fiat's new cab and upgraded specification

The Escape range continues to be the biggest selling single motorhome range for Swift Group. Leading enhancements for 2015 include Swift Group’s SMART intelligent construction system, Fiat's new cab, upgraded exterior styling and new higher specification interior features.

SMART Construction was launched to much acclaim in the Group’s tourer ranges in October 2013. Standing for a Strong timber-less body frame with Modern desirable looks and a leading Aerodynamic shape that is Resilient to moisture, all wrapped up in a motorhome that has undergone the most comprehensive Testing; it bares the ethos of what Swift wants to achieve for all their products going forward.

SMART is being launched across the entire Coachbuilt Motorhome range for the 2015 season.

The new timberless body frame uses PURe, a strong polyurethane material that is totally impervious to water and has been proven in use. The construction method prevents the transfer of moisture from the outside to the upgraded hardwood ply wallboard making the motorhome highly resilient to moisture. Everything is CNC (computer numerically controlled) cut to provide accuracy and consistency time after time to give a high quality engineered product. Thorough testing provides confidence for customers.

For more details on SMART Construction see the SMART press release.

The new Fiat cab has a more streamlined modern look and comes with a white colour keyed bumper and daytime running lights. Inside new ‘Captain-chair’ style cab seats have an integrated headrest, wider backrest, better side support and improved seat comfort for an overall more comfortable journey.

The radio comes with Bluetooth for hands free phone connection and a mirror mounted aerial for better reception. A handy central holder takes two cups or 0.75litre bottles and has space for a smart phone, iPod or other small objects. There is also a USB port for mobile device charging and connectivity.

The instrument panel has new more modern graphics and a gearshift indicator shows you when to change gear for optimum economy.

Outside enhanced graphics and new gloss white corner cappings and side skirts give a sleeker appearance to the all white exterior which comes in the choice of one low-line and four high-line models. Three models have four belted travelling seats and two layouts have five (6 optional), making them ideal for young or “three-generation” families.

Inside upgraded soft furnishings, new locker doors in contemporary 'Aralie Sen' woodgrain and chrome push button locker catches give a much more upmarket feel.

The kitchen has new deeper China lockers to allow for the fitting of new microwave oven and incorporates new lighting too.

Upgraded to the Grade 3 classification for heating the thermal insulation last year, the new Escapes achieve this even more easily this year with new Truma Combi 6/4 heating.

Higher specification lighting includes LED spot and ceiling lights and sockets are finished in chrome. Stylish new vector taps, microwave, 2 drawers under the oven (model specific) and an extension flap enhance the kitchen area.

Introduced last year, fixed beds benefit from the 'Duvalay Duvalite' an innovative mattress made with lightweight memory fibre technology. This mattress is exclusive as standard equipment to the Swift Group and provides excellent pressure relief and comfort.

Another practical addition last year, the Eco Camel shower head and hose in the washroom cleverly injects air directly into the water stream so you use less water while experiencing a more powerful shower.

Many motorhomes in this price category have only 110bhp engines, but the power unit in all Escapes is the Fiat 2.3 litre, 130bhp Euro 5+ turbo diesel with a 6-speed gearbox. A Fiat Comfort-Matic automatic gearbox is also available as an option.

New for this year the optional Comfort pack now also includes a Winter Pack with wastewater tank heaters, under floor pipe insulation and fridge vent cover and a Status 550 TV aerial. This is in addition to cab-air-conditioning, passenger air bag, electric entrance step, concertina door flyscreen and pleated windscreen blind giving a very high specification. It is so keenly priced it’s always selected.

All models come with a "TRACKER Retrieve" Thatcham approved tracking system and the reassurance of Swift Group’s 10-year body integrity warranty. Many insurers insist on trackers, so it could save customers several hundred pounds for fitting one later.

Nick Page, Swift Group's Commercial Director, commented, "Although Escape is our entry level coachbuilt motorhome range; with the new cab, SMART construction, styling and specification enhancements for the 2015 season, it feels far from entry level and really does provide a very attractive package for anyone wanting to buy new rather than second hand or just looking for amazing value."
