The Bolero range is set to turn heads for 2016 with new exterior styling, a new luxury interior and two new models.
The profile looks instantly different with a new GRP front pod housing an opening sky view window and a new rear panel with sportier looking lower valance. All exterior lighting is LED with cab day time running lights, front marker lights and Swift Group’s exclusive LED rear light clusters that not only look stunning, they give better visibility too.
The cab remains in black metallic and new graphics tie it into the white sides that are now GRP on the inside and out. Further enhancements include an improvement to Swift’s award-winning SMART intelligent construction system, called SMART Plus for 2016, this includes a new sandwich floor construction with a GRP outer skin providing greater durability from the elements and hail resistant GRP roof.
New roof cappings and integrated roof rails, high gloss PVC skirts and an integrated awning finish off the new silhouette. A larger gas locker now takes 2 x 13Kg gas bottles and for active customers, new bike rack fixing rails on the rear make it easy to fit a bike rack and there is a new bike locking point fixed to a rear cross member.
All models are based on the Fiat Ducato with an AL-KO chassis conversion with 16” alloy wheels.
There is a new compact 612EK with parallel front lounge and rear kitchen and large 744PR with u-shaped rear lounge, front dinette and side seat plus side kitchen and washroom.
Inside the Fiat cab gets additional specification with a DAB radio, dash-mounted tablet holder and 12V socket/USB socket and steering wheel controls.
Inside is a complete transformation. New Oyster Grey curved upper locker doors have a lower gloss ‘Aralie Sen’ inlay which complements the warm white kitchen lockers and gives an extra feeling of light and space. Chrome accents run though with a chrome strip in the lockers doors, push button catches, sockets and a new backlit entrance door handle.
The new ‘Nirvana’ Soft furnishings have a more sumptuous feel. Thanks to the shaped foam bedding the fabric combination is more intricate with three fabrics combining to give a luxury feel in tones of oyster, platinum and brown. There are scatter cushions with two effects, one in faux fur and the other in an etched honeycomb platinum design that ties in with the curtains.
There is a new SwiftShield fabric option which has a soft suede type feel and has been cleverly treated during manufacturing to resist stains. It simply cleans using water and a damp cloth.
The headboard behind the fixed bed with Duvalay mattress continues the honeycomb design theme, as does the new easy-clean kitchen splash back.
The kitchen has an innovative FENIX NTM® work top which is resistant to scratches, has enhanced anti-bacterial properties and is easy to clean. There is an underslung stainless steel sink and new worktop extension flap (model specific). The new Dometic oven is exclusive to Swift and is sleeker, tested to be more efficient with improved performance and noise reduction. The handy chopping and draining board have been modified so they nestle neatly together for easy storage. Storage has been changed from the carousel to handy drawers that are on new smoother runners.
The washroom design has been improved with a restyled vanity unit swivel spout tap, better lighting and new fittings including a new Ecocamel Orbit showerhead with on/off button for a powerful shower that uses less water than a standard shower head. The shower bi-fold door, where possible, is retained on a track for ease of use.
TV brackets, where fitted, have the addition of a travel lock and an uprated 100W solar panel is fitted as standard.
There is also the new Swift Command control system which includes an intelligent power supply unit and a smart new LCD control panel that allows viewing of enhanced control panel functions. There is also an exciting Swift Command App that can be downloaded to Smartphones and Tablet which enables the user to remotely control and/or monitor certain vehicle systems either inside the vehicle using a Bluetooth interface (BLE), or remote from the vehicle (providing that there is a signal or wi-fi available).
Specification remains high with Alde central heating, BBQ point and Winter Pack fitted as standard. They easily achieve Grade 3 performance for heating and thermal insulation.
The ever-popular Vogue special value pack contains key upgrades like cab air-conditioning, cruise control, Status 570 TV aerial and a twin-view reversing camera.
Engines are all 2.3litres with 6-speed gearboxes and power level is 130bhp or 150bhp, depending on body length. Larger models are available with the Fiat Comfort-Matic automatic gearbox with 150bhp engine, or the recently introduced 130bhp automatic option for the shorter length models.
All models come with a “TRACKER Retrieve” Thatcham (Category 7) approved tracking system and the reassurance of Swift Group’s 10-year body integrity warranty. Many insurers insist on a security device such as TRACKER being fitted, so it could save customers money.
Nick Page, Swift Group’s Commercial Director commented, "The new Bolero is simply stunning and packed with great features. So if you are looking for a motorhome that exudes style and quality then buy one of these new models, we are sure you won’t be disappointed."
