Bessacarr rivals Escape for best selling single motorhome range

Totally restyled inside and out last season, the Bessacarr has been such an outstanding success it has come close to out selling Swift Group’s Escape range which has held the top slot ever since it’s introduction.

It's not hard to see why; the Bessacarr package not only looks stunning, it comes with an incredibly high standard of specification as standard at great value. This includes additional finishing touches like cab mirror covers, reversing camera, awning, walnut dash trim, omnivent, vanity mirror lighting, robe lighting and map pockets/wall pads.

Further enhancements for 2016 include a new DAB radio with mirror antenna and 100W solar panel (40W on 424). There is also a new 12V socket and USB socket which are handy for the new dash mounted tablet holder.

Further enhancements include an improvement to Swift’s award-winning SMART intelligent construction system, called SMART Plus for 2016, this includes a new sandwich floor construction with a GRP outer skin providing greater durability from the elements.

For active customers new bike rack fixing rails on the rear make it easy to fit a bike rack and there is a new bike locking point fixed to a rear cross member.

The range remains with 8 models, five low-line and three having the integrated roofline, of which two feature the clever electronically operated drop down bed instead of a traditional overcab luton. The 494 layout has been improved to give an increase in fixed bed length of 1.95m/6'4".

Inside the interior remains mostly unchanged. The 'Aruba' soft furnishings are carried forward with the contemporary ‘Aralie Sen’ woodgrain. There is a new SwiftShield fabric option which has a soft suede type feel and has been cleverly treated during manufacturing to resist stains. It simply cleans using water and a damp cloth.

Washroom fittings are updated and where possible the shower bi-fold door now runs on a track for ease of use. There is also a new Ecocamel Orbit showerhead with on/off button, for a powerful shower that uses less water than a standard shower head in most models.

The handy chopping and draining board in the kitchen have been modified so they nestle neatly together for easy storage and drawers have smooth runners. TV brackets, where fitted, have the addition of a travel lock for security on the move.

All areas retain last year’s high specification which featured LED lighting, including the rear road lights, Thetford Aspire Mark II oven (specifically designed for leisure vehicle use), microwave oven, Duvalay mattress and Truma Combi boilers with a 'Crash Sensor Mono' regulator to allow en-route use.

A digital control panel is fitted to control the heating and hot water. As an additional dealer fitted upgrade this can be controlled via a new Truma iNet box to allow remote control and monitoring of the Truma boiler heating system.

With the Winter Pack fitted as standard, which includes fresh and waste water tank heaters, drain insulation and fridge vent covers, they easily achieve Grade 3 performance for thermal insulation.

All models are powered by the Fiat 2.3 litre, 130bhp Euro5+ turbo diesel with a 6-speed gearbox. Fiat’s automatic gearbox is available as an option with the standard 130bhp economical engine, which is a popular choice.

The keenly priced Lux pack adds cab air-conditioning, cruise control and a Status 570 TV aerial.

All models come with a "TRACKER Retrieve" Thatcham approved (Category 7) tracking system and the reassurance of Swift Group's 10-year body integrity warranty. Many insurers insist on trackers, so it could save customers several hundred pounds.

Nick Page, Swift Group's Commercial Director, commented, "The Bessacarr range has dominated its market sector. With a fantastic design and level of specification it transcends all others in its class. With such success we expect this winning formula to continue to excel for the new season."
