The Bessacarr name has always stood for classic style and luxury, and for the 2017 season new additions have been added to tempt the motorhome connoisseur, including Alde heating, enhanced SMART Plus construction and the new Swift Command system on top of a restyled soft furnishing scheme.
Alde heating is designed and manufactured in Sweden to deal with the toughest conditions likely to be faced no matter what the location. It is rated Grade 3 for heating and insulation, allowing maximum use and enjoyment of the motorhome throughout the year.
Swift upgraded the SMART construction system to SMART Plus for 2016 by adding a new sandwich floor construction with a GRP outer skin. SMART Plus has been further enhanced for 2017 with new balanced panel side walls having both GRP outer and inner skins to create a full GRP bodyshell. GRP is more impact resistant than aluminium, ensuring long lasting good looks to secure your investment for the future.
Swift Command, launched last season in Swift Group's flagship ranges, brought modern technology with an 'App' interface to the leisure vehicle market. This exciting innovation is now available across Swift Group's entire Caravan and Motorhome ranges.
The Swift Command control system includes an intelligent power supply unit and a smart LCD control panel that allows viewing of enhanced control panel functions. There is also an exciting Swift Command 'App' that can be downloaded to Smartphones and Tablets (iOS and Android) which enables the user to remotely control and/or monitor certain vehicle systems either inside the vehicle using a Bluetooth interface (BLE), or remote from the vehicle (providing that there is a signal or wi-fi available). Added to the system for the new season is the option to subscribe to a pro-active Thatcham Level 6 tracker.
All 2017 models also come with access to Connect Direct, Swift’s online customer service portal. Swift is the only manufacturer to have a dedicated customer service team and the Connect Direct system is additional to existing contact points.
The key benefits of Connect Direct are: access to information 24/7; ability to report faults directly to us; product upgrades and notifications; live chat direct into our experienced retail team; upload service history records and service history reminders.
Powering the Bessacarr is the new, more environmentally friendly, 2.3 litre 130bhp Euro 6 engine. The sleek low profile overcab with gloss white sides maintains it striking looks with enhanced graphics in keeping with the classic Bessacarr style. The whole roof is now GRP with the overcab pod running into a curved roof line with GRP outer.
Inside new ‘Moonlight’ soft furnishings give a rich feeling with linen and muted pewter seating and pale gold scatter cushions with a diamond pattern. There is a new SwiftShield fabric option which has a soft suede feel and has been cleverly treated during manufacturing to resist stains. It simply cleans using water and a damp cloth.
Fixed beds retain the Duvalay Duvalite mattress, exclusive as standard equipment to the Swift Group and all models have the new Dometic CU600 oven which gives improved noise reduction, reduced cooking times and better cooking uniformity and grill performance.
High standard specification includes additional finishing touches like cab mirror covers, reversing camera, solar panel, awning, new bronze dash trim, DAB radio, Omnivent, vanity mirror lighting, robe lighting and map pockets/wall pads. The range remains with eight models, five low-line and three having the integrated roofline, of which two feature a new manually operated drop down bed instead of a traditional overcab luton.
The keenly priced Lux pack adds cab air-conditioning, cruise control and a Status 570 TV aerial.
Nick Page, Swift Group’s Commercial Director, commented, “Bessacarr is a classic brand with stunning looks and hi-tech innovation under the skin. It transcends all others in its class and with the luxury additions of Alde heating and Swift Command, we expect it to continue to excel for the new season.”
