Swift Group has revealed their plans for the iconic Airstream for 2018, with two exquisite interior styles, a luxurious specification, and an exclusive dealer network.
Airstream will officially be launched at the Motorhome and Caravan Show, NEC on October 17 with demonstration models available across the country for people to view from the start of September.
There are three models, each one named after a well-known US river reinforcing the American heritage of Airstream and reflecting the freedom and adventure Airstreamers experience. The longest Airstream is the 4 berth Colorado at 8.25m, the Missouri is also a 4 berth and the shortest at 6.81m, with the 2 or 3 berth Yukon at 7.6m.
Six exclusive dealers have been appointed across the UK, these are Knowepark in Scotland, Salop Leisure in Shropshire, Catterick Caravans in the North East, Lowdhams Nottingham, White Arches near Northampton and Highbridge in the South West. Every model will be available at every dealer for existing and prospective Airstreamers to view, and Swift will be showcasing the Airstreams at various events from now onwards.
The unmistakable rounded aerodynamic ‘silver bullet’ exterior of each model is handcrafted with a buck riveted aluminium body-shell incorporating wrap around panoramic front and rear windows with tempered tinted glazing. Each Airstream also features a ZipDee® awning, stainless steel stone guards, thoughtful exterior access and storage combined with practical service points such as gas BBQ connection and exterior shower.
The Swift designers have brought a stylish twist to this all American icon with two distinctive furnishing schemes called Manhattan and Americana, both come with leather upholstery as standard with Impala fabric as an option. Easy to clean, Impala has a soft suede like feel and has been cleverly treated in manufacture to resist stains.
The Manhattan gives the Airstream a more contemporary, New York apartment twist. The precise accuracy of the diamond stitching and the highly contrasting monochromatic geometric patterns has a true luxury feel. With feature white twin stitching, luxurious full black leather upholstery and lustre of the grey leopard print feature scatter cushions this scheme is the pinnacle of class.
The warm brown leather of the Americana scheme has a classic vintage vibe enhanced by the strong quality feel of the twin stitching. The scheme is further elevated by the detailed baseball stitching on the corners of the bedding. The feature fabrics of the soft ‘cow hide’ scatter cushions and the comfortable cosy feeling of the red and black check curtains, all add to the warm rustic feel.
Both schemes are complemented by an already luxurious specification. The exceptional interior is enhanced with Corian worktops in the kitchen and washroom, hand crafted cabinets in Italian Lite-Ply, Alde central heating, an Ecocamel showerhead, Duvalay Duvalite mattress with lightweight memory fibre technology, and full LED lighting throughout.
The full UK Airstream website (airstream-uk.co.uk) will be launched early September, until then a mini-brochure with interior and exterior images along with full specification will shortly be available to download from the site .
‘With the launch of Airstream just a few weeks away, the excitement is palpable, and the new interior schemes have created an incredible buzz with everyone who has seen them, in fact we are already receiving enquiries from prospective buyers,’ said Swift Group Commercial Director Nick Page. ‘We are delighted that Ben Parkin has joined as Airstream Brand Manager, and thrilled to have six of the leading UK dealerships committed, each of whom will be receiving demonstration stock in early September for public viewing.
