Written by John Sootheran, each destination has been thoroughly researched so you can read about all the great things you can see and do: from sporting events and historical attractions to amazing nature experiences and music and arts festivals. In simple terms, there’s something for everyone
(including the family dog!).

Quiet and unspoilt, with so much to do

NORTHUMBERLAND HAS it all… except the crowds. Step onto one of the area’s many vast sandy beaches and you’re unlikely to see more than one or two dog walkers. Facing the North Sea can be a bit ermm… bracing, but we’ll be positive and call it invigorating.
