The testing behind Swift Group tourers and motorhomes is the most rigorous in the industry.
Swift, Sterling and Sprite caravans and Swift, Bessacarr and Escape motorhomes are construction tested on at least 1300 miles (1325 miles for motorhomes) of special track at Millbrook proving Ground. This includes:
- 414 miles of Pave
- 250 Kerb strikes
- 400 driveway ramps (Motorhomes only)
- 4400 Twist humps
- 100 Pot holes
- 100 cycles high speed/brake/standing start
This is equivalent to 6 years normal use.
In addition to this testing, construction methods that are well tried and tested include:
- Construction and sealant systems proven and refined through many years of use in a range of climates
- No body joints with metal cold bridges which could cause condensation
- Secure mechanical furniture fixings
- One piece 5000 Series sidewall aluminium (for marine use) with high impact and corrosion resistance
Tourers only
- Aerodynamic front panel with recessed door, windows and fittings, made from resilient closed-mould GRP and easily repairable
- Easy to use awning channel with only one joint
- 6 year manufacturer’s body integrity warranty (Subject to annual inspection)
Motorhomes only
- Overcab pods (except Escape) made from resilient closed-mould GRP and easily repairable
- Heavy duty rear chassis extensions (except Escape) ready for type approved optional towbar
- European Whole Vehicle Type Approval – Independent inspection and testing which confirms compliance with safety regulations, notably seat belts, weights and dimensions
All 2010 Swift branded touring caravan products now also come with the added peace of mind of a 10% extra safety margin on the tyres. Speeds on the continent are higher than the UK so tyre ratings are now 10% above the MPTLM rating guaranteeing safer high speed touring.
This programme combined with three year general warranty and six year warranty against water ingress is all designed to provide total peace of mind for the customer.
